Clothes horse by radiator in kitchen. I used to have it in the spare room but the humidity started peeling the ceiling off!0

All suggestions made are going to cause condensation within the house so best idea is to make sure you have open windows or door to get an exchange of air , even if its raining out opening a window will allow fresh air in and reduce the damp feel...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I got rid of our dryer 18 months ago and replaced it with a ceiling pulley in the kitchen. We do have an air to air heat transfer system in the house which blows hot air in the kitchen and I have an old wooden clothes horse which goes in the living room when we go to bed in the winter to get the heat from the open fire before it goes out.
I open windows every day to air the house.0 -

Hanging things on hangers on the transom (sp?) bars in the conservatory, with the windows slightly open, dries things in a matter of hours and they tend to need minimal ironing, too.0

I dry outside whenever possible but if not light things go on hangers in the airing cupboard(things like fleeces) socks and pants are hung over the pipes in the airing cupboard or put on the rads. Big items are hung over the bannisters and tops are put on hangers and hung from the picture rails upstairs out of sight. I do sometimes finish things off in the TD but managed all winter last year without one. I also use a clothes horse.Do what you love :happyhear0

It's not been unheard of for me to do this if I really need something in a hurry!0 -
I have a south facing old wooden conservatory with lots of ventilation. I dry all my stuff in there on clothes horses, saves making the house damp.0

I have a washing line in the garage. On really cold, damp days I finish off on the radiators but most of the time it's straight to the wardrobe. No ironing for me!!!!0

i wash twice a day .i do one in the morning and use radiator hangers when the heating comes on and hang shirts, fleeces and trousers over the doors upstairs with all windows on security latch.my upstairs is very hot even with the heating off it averages about 20c-22c even in winter.
i then do one wash about 7pm and put on a clothes airer downstairs out of the way with shirts or jackets over back of chairs around table.
i get up in the morning in a zombie like state and take all off and fold to iron they are always dry.
i only use our tumble dryer when its really bad for bedding has there can be a lot to try and dry"QUEEN OF THE CATALOGUES"...
