Can she have one that pulls to the ceiling means it is up off the floor so it can't be knocked over.

I just bought one in the argos sale but they are not selling it any more so that is about much help as chocolate tea pot.

  • Hi

I bought this one 3 weeks ago from Argos:

    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8505806/Trail/C%24cip%3D28694.Homewares%3EC%24cip%3D28759.Laundry%2Band%2Bcleaning%3EC%24cip%3D28761.Indoor%2Bairers.htm

Its excellent and you can get a full load on it...no probs!! I use in my bedroom in front of window (slightly open) and the radiator. Takes about 3hrs to dry a load on there-jeans or heavier items..a little longer!

That is the one I just bought too. And I found that I got the last one in my local store and all the other localish stores did not have any in stock.

So have a feeling that it might be hard to get hold of.

I could do with a couple, so I'll get my first one from Argos and if I spot one in Tesco I'll get another, the amount of washing I get through I could fill the dining room with them and still not have enough :D

:hello: Does she have the space to fix up a permanent airer like the one my very handy OH made in our kitchen.

One end of our kitchen is a 'dead' space. The wall has a radiator along it,and the two adjoining walls have doors to the garage on one side and the utility room on the other side. This makes it useless for cupboards, appliances or even shelves. However, the space above the radiator and doors was perfect for one of those old-fashioned airers you hoist up.Rather than buy one of these my OH constructed a permanent one using 3 lengths of dowelling.

Because it is above the radiator and near the utility room(WM)its a perfect drying area and its far enough away from my cooking centre for food smells not to be a problem.I use it constantly in the cold months,I hang shirts and tops on hangers on the poles which saves a lot of space and cuts down on ironing.HTH :)

J D Williams actually have an electric one, it costs 39.99 and is 100w, they say it costs no more than a lightbulb to run. I did think it was a clever idea and a good compromise between an airer and a tumble dryer.
