why are these very old threads being resurrected by shakerbaby

because he cannot afford to buy a house and wants a 70% house price crash that won't happen...

    it's called trolling... :T

That's a little unfair chucky, you bounced a few threads not long ago, which were lambasted and laughed at by the bulls, but were written before the current government mega borrowing binge. Having said that, I don't like bouncing of old threads unless there is some real news of note that the thread deals with, (like the Option ARM timebomb thread for instance)

yes you're right - the trolling was a bit unfair. shakerbigbaby seems a decent lad...

i stand by this bit though ;)

Do you think it's funny that people can't afford a house?

It's the bull psyche, apparently anyone quietly and happily waiting in the wings "can't afford to buy a house". :rotfl:

    Don't quite understand - I can't see you because it's the internet?

But I think you misunderstood my point. Which is to make it very simple - do you think high house prices are a good thing?

high house prices are not a good thing if you're a buyer
high house prices are a good thing if you're a seller

i know that you don't understand but it's quite simple really

But you are neither a buyer or seller are you? So what do you think, overall, about house price bubbles? Is it good for kids to be taking out 200k mortgages?

Are they not a good investment now? How far would you want them to drop before buying again? Personally I'd want 50%.
