Just got a leaflet through the post from Hillarys. There promotion at the moment is 'All the side windows of your conservarory for just £349, includes free advice, measuring, no obligation quote and fitting. I've never used them so I don't know what they are like but it sounds like a good offer.

    Tel 0800 916 7724 or online@ https://www.hillarys.co.uk.
Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves
  • We are really pleased with our blinds from Hilarys. I think it took a few weeks from order to fitting but it was more than worth it. They fit and work perfectly. We had side and front windows for £300.

Most of the top half of our PVCu kitchen door is glass and I'd like to find some way of obscurring this at night. Not keen on the idea of fixing blinds to the door itself (is this possible?) but the PVCu door frame fills the whole of the opening so the only other option I can see is to fix a blind into the top of the opening the door is fitted in. However the door opens inwards and there is only about a 2inch gap above it + if anything is narrow enough to fit above it most blinds have trailing cords etc which would get in the way when opening the door.
Has anyone had this problem or a solution to it?

I have a small narrow roller blind fixed to the door itself. Fittings simply screwed into the door.
  • you can now have blinds installed to your windows and doors without screws, using the louvolite perfect fit system. This is available as venetian or pleated blinds. The blind is fixed using thin clips inserted between the upvc and the glass. It's not the cheapest option but the only one that will not involve screwing into the window. Your local blind specialist can advise on cost and availability.
  • I worked for Hillarys for umpteen years, they do make a good product, you might like to also try their on-line service here http://www.web-blinds.com/default.aspx?ct=AW01

  • try looking up mike benthall from essex, he does blinds made to measure very reasonable too. i needed one 222cm x 114cm wooden venetian £120 which i thought was pretty good
