I had a similar experience, so did it on the cheap.
I bought some Tupplar roller blinds from Ikea at around £12.00 for a 1metre wide, drop 1.95m. Sizes run up to 2 metre wide. They are easily cut down to size. The colour ways are a bit limited only blue, white or beige when I got mine. They are black out blinds so do a good job at keeping out the sun.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

  • If you are looking for roof blinds avoid the "pleated" type. They fill up with dead insects and are the devil to clean. We just replaced ours with roller blinds which are fine.

  • If you want some bespoke made, I used Contour Blinds for my conservatory windows and they were excellent... and cheap too (given that they were made to size, were of good materials and fitted perfectly)...

If you go to ikea/arogs/homebase etc they are crappy blinds imported from china and plus they are not to size. with blinds.co.uk they have the cheapest blinds with a price match, that I tell you I cant find a firm that will do this.
    Kind Regards

We had a problem some 10 month's ago with a rather wide garage conversion window blind, we looked around with the view of one blind to cover the total span, an old up & over door size.

Was quoted over £150 for a one piece blind, made to measure.
thinking out the box we discovered that because the new window had 3 seperate windows, we could use three blind's which ended or started on the upvc frame its self, total cost £46.

  • We used Hilary's blinds 2 years ago. We wanted verticals and they cost £300 to be madeto measure and fitted. They look brilliant and can be directed so that light comes in and not the glare of the sun. Not sure if they are nationwide, but they are a big company here in Kent.
