Haven gold caravans and Prestatyn....(and questions about Prestatyn)

Hiya!

We are going to the Haven camp in Prestatyn for the first week of the school holidays in July for just £400!!!
Now I am a little bit excited as I have only booked silver and bronze before and am dying to know what the gold is like!!! The photo's look lush on the website but obviously they are one sided lol!!
So whats your experience of gold caravans-at any Haven park-are they as posh as you imagine?? Will I be on tenderhooks with 5 young kids incase they mess the place up???
Also can you let me know what the park is like in Prestatyn. We normally go to Pthwelli(sp?) but couldnt get in for the dates we wanted and the bargain at Prestatyn was too good to miss really!!!
What is there to do off site??? We have a car and would be willing to travel to wherever for decent days out with the smallies(activites for kids aged 2-7).
Finally looking for any good restuarants out and about-I dont do cooking when on my jollies lol!!!!
From anything from nice pizza joints, to nice posher meals. As a family we are food snobs and I hate using the excuse that we are on holiday to fill the kids up with junk at meal times-I am sure they will get enough junk from the icecreams and fizzy drinks in the clubs!!!
Ta muchly in advance :o)

Rhyl has a big indoor fun pool type of place with slides and rides, and Betws Y Coed isn't far for a trip to the water falls and narrow gauge railway. Rhyl itself is a traditional seaside place (chip shops, amusement arcades, tat shops etc) and Llandudno isn't far either, or Conwy Castle.

I think they're just bigger and with a microwave, but it's a while since I've been so I can't be sure. In my experience, though, "posh" and "haven" don't usually come in the same sentence!

We're going GOLD in July, at Burnham on sea (courteousy of Mr T):j :j (we normally do bronze as well)
The pictures look fab; caravan with a balcony overlooks the lake. I think they are that little bit more spacious, nicer decor and the bonus of early check-in, and your beds are made-up. So, yes it's posh for us as well ( after years of slumming it with the Sun readers!!!!)

Great place Prestatyn! Lovely long beach with promenade going all the way to Rhyl and beyond. If you manage to take bikes or hire them, there's a fantastic promenade to relax and a lovely trip for the children. There are fantastic views if you take a walk up to the top of Prestatyn hillside as well.

Have a great time; it sounds very exciting.

Hi Twinmumagain (does your name mean you have 2 lots of twins  ) I have one set aged just 2 and they are a real handful....anyway we went to Haven Prestatyn Sands a few years ago (2002) blimey so 6 years ago now!!

Anyway we started off in a silver caravan but it was horrible, no fridge working and manky carpets - anyway we complained and were moved to a Gold one (It was a new one that year) and it was fantastic - all lovely and new and extra wide - the kitchen even had one of thos american fridges in and the bathroom had a bath and shower!! it was really really nice...

If I can find any pics I will see if I can put them on here....

We found the site was fine and if the weather is nice the beach is right there (My Mum went on it and said it was great).....We tend to go out and about and visited Rhyl (bit disapointed) but found nicer places....

Hope you have a great time - we are going with Haven in August to Doniford Bay also in a Gold caravan so hope its as nice as we had before...
