I was a Saturday girl at Boots YEARS ago - it is still 16 now - but be aware that it is likely to be an 8 hour till shift - not as fun as it seems and standing all day is hard work!!

    .. But discounts.......and actually earning money!:j

I do a 11 hour shift at M&S standing up fitting bras/on tills, 8 hours is childs play compared to that!

I remember the Saturday girls getting carried away - as they were 16 they still lived at home - but one was caught buying stuff for her mum on discount (you were only allowed discount on the days you worked - and she bought washing powder, household cleaning stuff etc) and was promptly sacked as it wasn't for her, with her money.

It is probably only minimum wage - and imagine how quickly you could spend that after watching all the glitches go through the till!! I did love it though - but there were 20 horrible customers for every nice one!

At M&S you can use your discount any day you like and you can come in on days when you aren't working to shop from the staff food shop, Boots may be glitchy but I have well good bargains :D

Imagine if we each collected all of the carrier bags we had from boots, how many would you have???

Also, I asked this already today but does anyone know how old you have to be to work at Boots? I would love to work on the tills or in the cosmetics stand bit!

    None :rotfl:

This is a do-it-yourself test for paranoia: you know you've got it when you can't think of anything that's your fault.
