Right bit of a blast from the past but these things take time. The letting agent did not reply to the court, judgement was made in my favour. Still nothing so I wrote a further couple of letters, with a deadline of last Monday for sending in the bailiffs. Finally got an email back on Monday (my first acknowledgement of my correspondence) asking how I would like the money. Money cleared in my account yesterday - just under £3k!

    What a result.

Well done Stevey - all that practising in front of the mirror, and you get a default win.......:D:D

I think it would be helpful to have a separate area of the board, closed to new posts, where the original threads behind these successful cases can be easily referenced (& in the interests of balance that would be to include cases in which Ts or LLs have been the wronged party because there can be difficulties from either party)
  • Aww - well done! I've just noticed this thread and I'm so glad you came back to update it.

Serves them right - I wonder if they (your LA) will be charging the LL for the money they had to pay you?

I hope not, as the LL will have been paying them (probably outrageous) fees to take care of this kind of admin, which clearly they didn't.

    Well done!

Are you going to name and shame them? It sounds like an agency to avoid, and as plenty of us here on these boards rent, it would be good to know.

I've always found it hard to find decent information about other people's experiences with LAs, and it would be great if there was a place where tenants could leave testimonials and reviews of service so others could use the information to help them make their decision.

Stevey...Maybe a new career in the legal industry?...?

    Well done by the way..

Bad LLs should get out of the industry, and leave all that business for decent LLs.

    Stevey

    CONGRATULATIONS! :T

I trust you have forwarded a copy of your correspondance to your former flatmates, so that they too can claim their fine from the terrible letting agents.

And the party is at yours tonight? :D
