I would love this book and think that it's a great idea. I don't understand why Delia is getting so much crap because of it... One feels that all of those giving her grief wish they had thought of it first.

The sad thing about this country is that most kids leave school without the ability to cook for themselves. The book is obviously not designed for those who have a good knowledge of cooking but instead gives a few ideas to those who don't.

I know several people who live off take aways and ready meals who would find this a good start to moving forward with cooking.. It's a shame you had to have a joke about something that should be sorted out in our education system.

Any way this is a competition thread and I'm sure those that don't want the book will not enter.

Oh lighten up. People know how to cook to some extent, its laziness. I didn't cook properly for years, and I'm not a great cook now by any means but watching Delia open up a packet of McCains Wedge Potatoes would not have inspired me. Watching Jamie and Gordon did inspire me and reading their books, cooking healthily, knowing what was going into what I was eating, instead of packet rubbish. Why didn't she do this years ago, why? Because her career is flagging and she needed a new angle.

Maybe it's a good thing we don't all think the same way. I'll leave you with your opinion of the book and I'll stick with mine.

Painting myself a lighter shade of grey as I type... :)
