Jersey- £10 International Call Charge for 01 Number!

Hi all- and thanks for the great work this community does. V appreciated cheesy.gif

I'm writing because I used SNT0870 to get a geographical number for play.com, rang it from my mobile (hoping to use my bundled minutes), but was subsequently charged £9.25 angry.gif for it.

It was listed as an 01 number, with no note that it was for Jersey (it didn't click in my head that Play were based there so it must have been), but besides I was unaware that there was any pricing difference.

Essentially I'm after some assistance with possibly getting my money back. I'm on PAYG with Three, and I'm only 16. This one call used up my *entire* credit cry.gif

Given that they (Three) list 'UK 01 numbers' being included, and that there was no obvious indication otherwise, do I have any hope? Is it worth writing to them and following it up with OTELO? I did speak with their executive office, but they were adamant it was my fault and that I should pay (this is their good call centre lol- not Mumbai).

Anyway, rant over: do I have a hope??

Thanks so much in advance,

Dom

Dom why did you ignore the very clear note against the numbers on the saynto0870 site that the numbers are Jersey based, may be chargeable, and may not come out of inclusive minutes.

3 and other suppliers normally only include UK calls made from the UK to standard UK landlines . As its its not a standard UK landline number its chargeable.

As has been mentioned, I have just added those notes. 18185 charges Channel Islands calls as per UK mainland ones - that's 5 pence per call, however long.

I'd suggest to 3 that you now understand that whilst other UK mobile networks except Isle of Man and Channel Island mobiles from their inclusive minutes, they certainly don't do this for the landlines in those places

What's more, 3's very own Price Guide does not note that those landline numbers will be charged as International Band 1 like that, only their mobiles [though I can see a couple of omissions].
