There are some differences between the two products but his final summary is "Given that OpenOffice.org is more fully-featured, makes few hardware demands and is under a free license, replacing it with Symphony seems pointless"0 -
Just out of interest what was your problem with installing it? Microsoft Office 2003 is fully compatible with Vista. I installed it on my laptop three weeks ago with absolutely no problems. Did you try uninstalling the 2007 trial first? Thats what mine came with but i just got rid of it.
i know people say openoffice is great but of you have bought Office 2003 you might as well use it and get your money's worth.
