Hi, I've just got a new laptop with vista and a trial version of office 2007, I can't afford to buy this, and currently use office 2003 on my desktop with xp.
I've tried installing office 2003 to my laptop but this didn't work.
i'm basically looking for a free alternative to microsoft office.
I've found the mozilla thunderbird which can by my alternative to outlook express.

Open office found at openoffice.org is a good basic set of programs.
I like it but the beauty of it being free is if you don't like it you don't have to keep using it.

With some Office programs Open Ofiice is more compatible than Office. We have trouble opening older Access databases in Access but there's no problem opening them in Open Office.0

IBM has recently released Lotus Symphony which includes Word Processor, Presentations and Spreadsheet. It's free to use and the web site says it's compatible with Microsoft formats. It's based on OpenOffice.
I have not tried it, details at http://symphony.lotus.com0 -
I never understood Lotus releasing that. You may as well get the more up to date OO directly."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
