I know nowt about computers really so am looking for the best package out there - I have tried reading the which security do you use post but it is going WAY above my head!! I have just started using nod32. It's not cheap, but comes really highly recommended. It's been trouble free so far for me and has picked up some threats that AVG left behind. (I only used AVG briefly while I did my research).0

If your looking to buy I would recommend Eset Smart Security.

Very good antivirus (NOD32) and very lite on resources.0 -
Q: Which Internet Security Should I Buy???
A: You probably don't need to.
I'd go for...
Antivirus: either AVG Free or Avira Anti-Vir.
Firewall: Comodo (v3 "learns" which programs to allow automatically using its default settings. I'd either change the defaults (change to "Custom security level" immediately after installing and disable Defense+ or just use v2).
Anti-Spyware: Spywareblaster and Spybot S&D.
Just search Google or the forums here for more details, and BEWARE OF SPOOF WEBSITES!
As SemperFi says, NOD32 is also an excellent antivirus program (probably very slightly better than the two free ones above, but you've got to pay for it).
Just make sure you keep everything updated (including Windows itself).
Hope this helps...

Comodo do both a firewall and AV product though AV is a beta product .Both free.
Superantispyware is free also.
Kaspersky labs do a 60 day free trial of internet security suite . They are also giving a how to stay safe online guide in plain english free .
If you do buy Kaspersky then look at the three user pack deal does not have to be the same household though twelve months starts from day of first activation .
I would try the trial of Eset or Kaspersky to see how you get on with them before buying .

I can thoroughly recommend the Kaspersky Internet Security package (Anti-Virus, Firewall, Anti-Spam, anti-spyware etc). I had a major problem earlier in the week (on this forum and search for brunlea99) with virus and spyware. I had AVG anti-virus and ran Spybot/Adaware etc but they did not get rid of the issues. I downloaded the Kaspersky trial version and that cleaned everything in one scan. I've now purchased the 3 licence package direct (and I got a 50% discount online although I think that has now ceased).0

Presume you bought Kaspersky 7 . If so when Kaspersky 8 is released later in the year ( gone out of Beta and in RC1 at present ) Your key/serial should be valid for the new version .
As cheap as £11-46 single user OEM from here .

Far cheaper and even free AV are around you may never need anything but AVG or the like .me if i am going to have security i prefer to use a few tried and trusted products that came highly recommended and have never let me down .

I personally use Eset Smart Security."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
