I have Virgin 2mb broadband and am looking to go wireless.
Anyone know any good deals for routers? Is a router the only thing i need?
I've read all the wireless threads but it's too much information!

I'm not sure to be honest:oA wireless router is only one end. Is your PC wireless enabled?
It is the famous £400 PC World http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/992733#productInformationSection0 -
My PC is in the same room as my modem and router so I just connect to it via wired. I'm guessing yours is the same...0

At the moment i've got a massive ethernet cable running from the modem to the PC at the other end of the room. I just want to be able to plug the modem into the router and be done with it!0

Yeah sorry, you'll need a router too. I have this one and had no problems with it.

No I don't think you can, I think the dongles you are thinking of are bluetooth dongles.0

Almost any Wi-Fi adapter will do, but if you want to avoid any confusion on this issue you should probably go for a bundle:Will some sort of dongle do?0 -
I have been reading this thread with interest as I think I may be in the same situation but frankly am not enlightened! (my fault - not very bright)!
My internet is with BT I have a router(?) in the living room to which the family computer is attached. My daughter would like to be able to use her laptop in her room when she is home from uni (she is wireless enabled) but I thought I had to change my internet deal with BT to become wireless, which i don't think I can do as I have a 1 year contract and have only had it 6 months. Am I wrong? Is it possible just to by a wireless router? We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing.0
