MBNA and disgruntled customers

in Credit cards
After our horrendous time with MBNA, (still going on), we are not at all surprised to see more complaints here. What does it stand for anyway, MBNA ?

Sorry, I have had no problems at all with them. £11,000 credit limit and regular 1.9% interest offers. What is the problem with then? Is it different than breaking the conditions of use?NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

I had a problem years ago - (allegedly) late payment, and though I eventually got them to drop the charge I cancelled the card soon after. It was over Xmas/New year and even though I posted the payment around two weeks before the due date it turned up on the day after... (yeah right).
Apparently it started 'life' as Maryland Bank National Association (group of banks in Maryland ganged up to offer credit cards).0 -

May be it did turn up late? There have been 2 cases this week of postmen/women hiding mail in their homes. That's not MBNA fault. I always use electronic transfer. Or pay at a bank etc. The post could be too unreliable when it comes to deadline bill paying with penalties. Especially over Christmas and new year!NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Hey, I have MBNA card with £11½ credit limit, always pay on time, direct debit etc. I rang them as my balance was zero and asked them if there was any offers on at the moment, i was advised nothing  SO i am thinking of closing my account.N9eav wrote:Sorry, I have had no problems at all with them. £11,000 credit limit and regular 1.9% interest offers. I have had major probs with their international call centre tho, and complained about it to HQ and they listened to the conversation we had, and they themselves were appauled. :rolleyes:Ben

Been using MBNA for a few years now, no problems, have a Conran card, 1% cashback, can't really complain.
Well I can, they won't let me get another MBNA card, as I already have one.
I entire bill by DD. When I have had to call up cust services, via their freephone number, rather than what most other CC providers do by giving you a non-geo number, they have been pretty helpful."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
A fair point, but an invoice and 2 other transactions posted at the same time were turned round in little over a week. Could have understood if it hadn't arrived at all - never had that with any card though. I've been using internet banking for the last 3 years so not dependent on postal service these days.N9eav wrote:May be it did turn up late?0
