Hi - very new to this and although I roughly know how to place a bet in the bookies I'm a bit confused with the Betfair site......

I've opened the National Quickbet and managed to find the each-way betting - can I bet say 10 horses at £1 each way then 1 at £5 to win to use the £25 or is there a better way of doing this......

I'm just randomly picking names/colours I like so wanted to go for maximum chance of winning.....

    Any help would be grateful.....

ps I think I've done it correct - gone through Quidco (at £30) but not showing yet and first time I've used it and left the original code in for the free £25 bet - again not showing but not yet put the bets on.......

ook, so i signed up and i have now placed 5 bets on 5 horses to win. so now i sit back watch the race and see if any come first? If none do, then i win nothing but et my 25 pounds back, and if one does win, i get the money in my account?

    Is that right?

When going through Quidco did everyone put a code in to get the matching £25 bet ? Or is simply opening an account and placing a £25 wager on the Grand National enough ?

I think I have messed it up. Went via quidco and left the code in place, and it wasn't the same one as was on Martin's page.

I feel sick now, I wish I had never bothered, what a waste of my money.
I normally only bet £2 and would never have done it otherwise.

I think it should be made clear that if you go through quidco then the code won't be the same and you will lose your £25.

Very upset! I can't cancel the bets now either. I am just going to have to write the money off. Absolutely gutted.

You DONT need to put the code in off here, i used the code that was already in the box from Quidco and i have had my £25 credited to my Betfair account

They dont do eachway bets as such, you have to do seperate WIN and PLACE bets.

If you look at the left hand columm that has the race times you fill find there are two listings for each race. One is for Wins ( which is likely where you are) the next one down the list is for Place bets.

Aintree Race time 16.15 TO BE PLACED............... Click on that and Bobs your uncle.

Hi - can anyone enlighten me - to do each way do you need to do a WIN and a PLACE Bet? what happens if you just put a PLACE bet??

    Thanks
  • what does an unmatched bet mean? Some of my bets have gone through but one hasnt. Is this because of the odds being really high?

I struggled finding the each way betting so you are doing better than me. But yep, that sounds like you've done it right.

    All mine are wins
    Good luck
