I bet each way. I used the Quick Bet thingy.
Thank,

You can just leave that - what you are doing is taking the betfair starting price so the bet will be matched just before the race starts.

Betfair Starting Price (SP)
Betfair Starting Prices are the best odds available at the start of the event.I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something0 -
Found this on betfair:..
Can I bet Each Way on betfair?
Betfair don’t offer each way betting in the traditional manner, but offer ‘Win’ and ‘Place’ markets as a direct alternative.
As a Betting Exchange, our markets are run differently from the traditional bookmakers in a number of ways, with separate 'Win' and 'Place' markets instead of the usual 'Each Way' markets. If you wish to back a selection “each way”, you have the option to split your stake and place two bets, one to win and one to place. This also means that you can bet a selection to place only. Place markets are usually next to the Win market in the left hand menu and are available on most competitions with large numbers of entrants such as the Tour de France.
N.B. When betting in a Place market, it is important to check the place terms. Different events will have a different number of places available (particularly horseracing where convention determines the number of places available on a given race). You can find the place terms in the “grey text” under the Rules tab.Awaiting first win!!0 -
My quidco tracked as soon as bets were placed. Cheers folks. Lets hope it pays.
Never managed to do each way bets though. It just wouldn't respond.0 -
Terry you can also just do "quick bets" and bet e/w on betfair so that must be a little out of date. Although the WIN and PLACE will get matched straight away.I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something0

More generally why are the Odds offered so generous?
I used the racing post website to look at the horses and the predicted starting prices were way lower than the Odds offered by Betfair.....

Because it is a betting exchange. You are betting against another person who can offer whatever odds they want.I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something0
