spo have i lost £25 then? i cant verify my age as no CC and no scanner to send. the phone service wyou have to have your phone reg'd but they wont let me withdraw my money!! HELP!!!

    Hi Miss Money

I deposited the £25 (via debit card) and then realised that I needed to confirm my age!! I don't have a credit card and access to a fax so I withdrew my £25 back out of the account and it said it would take 3-5 days. So you should be able to do the same I would have thought.

Going to get my OH to do it now!!

    Hope this helps

I used Electron too but when I tried to verify with my Credit Card it wouldn't let me. I called Betfair and a really helpful lad said he could try and verify it by my address as long as I'd lived here for over a certain number of years. He called me about 2 hours later to say it was done. BTW the money does not come off your debit card unless it has been verified and in fact never came off mine at all, I had to call them again to check this and he did it over the phone for me. (Use saynoto0870 if you want to call them)

    Betfair is not a bookie

Ok Mr Pedantic - Betfair is a "betting exchange".
But for the benefit of those on here who very obviously haven't a clue what they're doing, or potentially what they are getting themselves into, I used the common term: Bookie

All in - Bookie / betting exchange is a business vehicle to extract as much
money as quickly as possible from those who are intellectually, and more especially mathematically, challenged. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've tried to do this today but it says SUSPENDED in big red letters over the grand National page - all the other options are open to me but not the grand national. Can anyone check please and see if this is the same on their account.

Can I just please clarify what this age verification thing is all about before I do anything further. I was planning to use my first direct maestro card to deposit the £25 - will that be ok or will I then have to set about proving my age (which is considerably more than 18 I can tell you!! :rotfl:)

If I'm going to have a load of hassle, I'd sooner use the credit card and pay the 40p!!

    EDIT
Sorry, ignore all that, just noticed on the add a card page that it will do age verification on electron and solo card deposits.

Just checked and you are right. The Grand National market is SUSPENDED.

Probably find a horse has been pulled out. Betfair will re-align the market if a horse is pulled out as the odds get changed.

Nothing to worry about. This is common practice.

If you put a bet on before it was suspended it will still stand unless the race is not run (I doubt that very much).

If you have not put a bet on, wait for the market to be re-aligned and it will all be as normal :D
