I think you can have a debit visa card from 17(?) so can't necessarily verify from that.
When the verification notice came I phoned Betfair, and the customer services person said I had been quick off the mark when I explained what card I used. He said it would take a couple of minutes for my card to register I used debit visa. And indeed when I went back to the screen all was well and I could bet. Money now refunded to my card. Electron and Solo are the ones most requiring identification.

I set up an account via quid co for £10 and bet it on the national. It has now tracked at £50 on quid co (Not guaranteed of course) If I bet a FURTHER £15 on the race can I expect to get £25 back in my account 24 hours after the race as people have said or is it only paid if all the bets are placed at the same time?0

 Have just spent a very frustrating half an hour trying to place bets and still not quite sur what I've done !!!
When I go to log ut it says I have unmatched bets - what does this mean please? I placed a couple of wins on the main bit and then some each way bets on the 'quick bet' thingy. Now need to lie down in a dark room :eek:0 -
In my betting it says
4 to be placed
does that mean im backing each way and do i put £5.00 in the stake if i wish it to be £2.50 each way?
sorry but im new to this and just want some advice, will thank all who help later.
WIN
Bet for horse to win
Place
A Place Market is a market in which you win if your horse finishes in a place position for that race. (i.e positions 1-4)
Each Way
An "Each Way" bet means that you bet on a horse both winning and being placed. If the horse wins, you win both bets. If the horse is placed, you win only the place bet.Man who stands on toilet is high on pot. - Old chinese proverb.0 -

Good luck
AMD
Oh well its been a learning curve for me. If I had gone to the cinema for a bit of excitement it would have cost me £7.00 so I have saved £5.00.
Best of luck0 -

No you would put £2.50 on the 5 horses then go to the win market and put £2.5 on the same 5 horses thereI have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something0 -
