For anyone asked to verify their age, if you are using a card type that banks do not issue to under 18's then ignore the request and carry on with your bets.

My type of debit card would not be issued to an under 18 and I dont have a credit card. I called last night and the advisor told me to ignore the pop up, and if they had any query they would call me. I have had no call today and I withdrew my £25 this morning, the pop up asking to verify my age has disappeared. I think it takes a while for it to drop off after you register but eventually it catches up that the card is a card type only issued to over 18's.

Its only solo, electron type cards that need to be verified as banks issue these to under 18's.

  • I dont know who these betfair people are but I dont want them having a copy of my passport and all my bank details, but they have my £25 and that looks like its the only way to get it back.
    Can anyone advise please?
    thanks
  • mable if you used a debit visa card there was no need to pay the £2 vertification fee! the computer just need a couple of minutes to register the card you were using. Any quickly place your bets time is running out.

    Good luck

I made my £25 deposit with a visa debit card but later received an e-mail saying they hadn't been able to verify my age from 'publicly available information' but this could be done with a credit card as you needed to be 18 to have one. I think you can have a debit visa card from 17(?) so can't necessarily verify from that.

    Hi
I started to panic a bit when i logged in to betfair to check my account and they asked for ID. I sent this via e-mail but have not recieved a reply. I was concerned Betfair had taken my money but would not place my bet until after they verified my ID. Therefore holding money i would not use until next years National

I called betfair and was informed the ID verification did not affect the bet i had placed, this would still be placed. However I would not be able to withdraw or transfer funds until after ID was verified. Which took 24 hours or in the case of the vast amount of bets for the National a little longer.

I hope this helps other who may have been having panic attacts.

Anyone asked to verify their age, ignore the pop up and place the bets.

They eventually catch up that the card type is an over 18's card. I spoke to a man from Betfair last night who advised me to ignore it and when I logged in today I withdrew my £25 and no ID pop up showed.

Only solo and electron type cards need verification.

How long did you have to wait?

Did mine yesterday afternoon, money credited this morning, but I was at work so couldn't do anything until I got home! Did the transfer back to my card than, it will take between 3-4 working days
