This is an interesting question as I sell my old bits on ebay and some months have made a fair bit if selling a few dvd`s or my PS2 and I rarely pay my paypal money in to the bank account but wondered how you would declare it when its such random amounts, eg one month could earn £80 and another month could earn 80p, its very confusing! :o

If it's your own personal stuff you're selling, you don't have to declare it. But if you go buy stuff to sell at a profit, you do as that is being a business.

Conor I am so entitled to IB, with permitted work. I am very lucky if I make £10 a month so erm think I might need to keep on claiming Barcode ! LOL

No problem in that case. You didn't give us a lot of information to go on so I had to put in some assumptions.

If you don't tell the whole story, you can't expect people to give full help.;)

:D yes very true, sorry. My head is such a muddle this week, I should have gone away and thought it through properly, then posted more fully. I registered with the tax people because I wanted to be honest and legal, but it's got more complicated now we are on benefits. I think its time to give up ebay, isnt worth the worry. Many thanks to all who posted x
