Anyone been watching the new delia series? I have been most impressed with the recipes and as a dabbler in the kitchen thought some of them looked very easy, especially the frozen episode last week, would also like to know if anyone has the new cheating book yet??

I've been watching it - although i tend to cook from scratch so haven't been that impressed. I'd agree that what she's doing looks easy though - there was a thread on here discussing it a while back.
I'd be interested to know how the recipies taste if you give any a go.April Grocery Challenge: £250/£127.530 -
There's been extensive discussion on this already, but it's been quiet for a few days so you're forgiven for not having found it

Although I have nothing inherently against being a lazy cook, my personal opinion is that you either eat proper cooked-from-scratch food or you have prepared food (tinned meal/ready meal/takeaway). I don't get why people would want to spend most of the time you'd need to prepare something "properly" in order to prepare something that's half-processed and probably quite expensive.Operation Get in Shape

I bought the book today! About 99% of my meals are cooked from scratch and what I have gathered from her program and the book is that it's not a matter of using ready meals but rather using ingredients that are already prepared. I actually cooked one of her recipes today for our tea and I cooked it from scratch the only difference from a usual meal is perhaps the lemon grass came out of a jar and I did not have to go out and buy fresh lemon grass. Her book is mainly about having things already in the freezer store cupboard etc to hand and being able to cook from tasty meals very quickly.0

The book sounds better than the TV show - although i thought the curry program better than the first two shows. Will have a look at it once the reservations fall off it at the library - only probably with being staff, we can't swipe the popular stuff.April Grocery Challenge: £250/£127.530

I've seen one of the episodes and read about the new book. Seems a bit pointless to me, I mean how is shepherd's pie made with tinned mince and frozen mash any different/better than just buying a shepherd's pie? The frozen mushroom risotto with added porcini mushroom was no easier than making one in my opinion! I believe that the cost of the ingredients for her cup cakes came to £11!
Nah, I'll stick to Nigella with her express recipes thanks -I never liked Delia's approach to food. She doesn't teach people to cook, only to follow recipes. "a quarter of a teaspoon of salt" -What's that all about for goodness sake?! LOL0 -
Watched the first episode, what bolloxxxx if you don't even have time to make mashed potato and have to use frozen then god help us.
If it had been cooking for those that can't then It might have been a bit more acceptable and it was hardly very MSE0 -
If anyone would like to buy the book from Tesco.com,
