I used up most of my free bets doing the matched betting last year, so don't think I will be doing any more just yet. I do get the occasional e mail though offering a free bet from the sites i used so may just take some up when I have time.
Looking forward to a peaceful weekend as DD is off on a revision weekend with her french class to an outdoor centre in the lakes. French revision alternated with activities. Never did that when I was doing my o levels:rolleyes:
Frugal pony is being looked after by a friend for two days but we HAVE to visit him on the way to school pickup at 7am just to check he is alright:eek: . No lie in for me then tomorrow.Judging by the sweets and choc she has packed for midnight feasting it is likely she will be sick as a pig when she returns on Sunday evening:rotfl:
Love the sound of that cottage Nyk, I have stopped looking at our property papers as I just get cheesed off at all the places I can't afford:rolleyes:0 -
Good morning to the frugallers who have Bingo Burnout. Having read Marru's post, I think the trick to winning is to not be watching the games as they go on as I haven't a clue which one of my drunken purchases actually won
Not suggesting for one little minute that Marru was drunk or even slightly squiffy but its the "not watching" that is the charm to attract the Luck Goddess
Its very damp and dark this morning and I am off to work. DH is curled up in bed
Yesterday we had a lovely day out together. We went to a nearby Craft Workshop. We know that we never want (or will be in the position to) ever own a house again so we have decided to save up wach year and buy a nice piece of art glass or a picture.
Yesterday DH bought me a beautiful little wooden box to keep my huge collection of expensive jewellery in :rotfl: It is made from local yew grown on the estate where the workshop is. We also bought a bronze plaque with a dragon embossed on it made by a local craftswoman which will go in the dining room. We don't go out much but we do like to have friends round compete to see who can set the most spectacular table a la Ebay or Charity Shop finds :T
Ooops....clock ticking. Bye for now.0 -
Havent been posting much but I am still here.
Going to hairdressers today a bit of an expense but such a treat for me and I love it!
Going out tonight for a free dinner courtesy of my husband's employer as he has been really busy lately and doesnt get paid any overtime, so I will enjoy it all the more as we are not paying for it!Live on a little over £4k challenge

A beautiful morning here. I've been out already an swept the yard and tidied up (in my jimjams) so now I've come in for coffee before braving it on to the allottement. I'm determined to get some digging done so I can get something in.
I've got plants in the greenhouse for my mum and aunt who are on a cruise. My aunt insists on giving me £30 to cover hearting and care and that overs the cost of the plants and seeds I buy. If I don't accept cash she buys a present which she worries over so now I just say thank you.
Yesterdays bread was 7/10, not quite as good but edible. I proved this one over night just to try. I went to put the ice cream maker in the freezer overnight and have taken the hint from DH. It is FULL of bread! Oh well! (don't tell, I took a loaf out and hid it in my sewing cupboard so I can fit the ice cream maker in. Priorities! I'll put it back this pm. Serves him right if it's stale when he gets back from his revision week end)
Matched betting is too scarry for meDoing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
Good morning frugallers:D
Only 10:30 and I have done a days work already. Dropped DD off at school for trip (via stables:rolleyes: ) then came home and picked up OH as I needed him to lug bags of gravel from the garden centre;) . Spent £5.40 on gravel and £3.45 on a huge bag of compost. Then went to pharmacy to pick up a script for one of oldies who is poorly. Arrived home and lugged gravel and compost down to veggie patch. Now I am having a cuppa and a catch up before transferring all my plants into the newly repaired greenhouse and planting out runner beans into tubs.
Looby hope you have a good day at the allotment:j wish I had one.
Broke mum of three - enjoy your meal out:D
Janey - hope you had a good morning at work with your ladies.:D
Catch up with you all later - work to do and the sun is shining:j0 -

Ummm - I was nicely relaxed after couple of (small - mind you) glasses of rather nice (Mr T own brand) port. Ok Nyk, time to spill - what were you on
when you won £120.-?
Sorry to go off subject here now but I have been looking at eBid and will definitely go and start selling my books there soooo can anybody tell what is the best time to finish the auctions? Sunday morning? Sunday evening? When are most people online? I guess it is just trial and error but any experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Sophiesmum - you put me to shame. I have managed breakfast and now trying to get myself and DD dressed so we can take the dog out. Lunch today - veggie sausages and chips. Quick and easy after walk and guaranteed to please DD.
Will be back with update as soon as I can bring myself to check my bank account. If there is no update by Monday evening please will you shout!!!
Thanks, Marru"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Hi all!
Sadly I wish the Luck Goddess did reward non-watchers Janey as I didn't watch a single game and still got nada :rotfl:
Nyk, that cottage sounds lovely, I got house envy just reading it. I've stopped looking too SophiesMum. Don't get me wrong, it's great to have our own place that we don't have to move out of again and I am enjoying it here but I do often dream about The Perfect Smallholding
Not sure what I'm up to today, little whacked - new veg patch boards needs painting, might go to the market for May's GC, fancy setting up a little blog or I may just lie here and read the paperHave a great Saturday everyone x
Oh yeah, SophiesMum, I'm interested in your stockpiling for June-Dec - are you planning on not buying anything at all? How much space do you have for growing? I like the idea of this but don't think we can do it ourselves just yet.
Marru, I was told to end Ebay auctions on Sunday evening, don't know if that helps? The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Don't worry Marru:o
Tomorrow I intend to laze in bed as long as possible, no work, no DD, no pony to see to, so will make the most of it and have a lazy morning.:D0 -
So far today, had a lie in [woohoo!], sorted out DD's chums and XDH to go off on work trip, made ocffee, caught up. Not a lot, but it's gray and windy so outside is off apart from the washing and picking up the detritus from the wind last night [weather, not me!]. Then it's delving into the freezer and cupboards as I'm determined not to buy anything but fresh veg and milk for the next week, then possibly bread flour for the week after that. No alcohol, nothing - however will I cope?!
Best of luck everyone and I really must get around to the Bingo this Thursday. Will someone hold my hand as I truly haven't a clue.... nothing new there then!
DGIf you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!0 -
