Certainly the MSc and PhD stipends are not repayable - if you are lucky enough to get one. They are often called grants, scholarships or studentships. Not everyone gets one and it is possible to completely self fund these qualifications . Not a cheap option by any stretch of the imagination . Not sure about PG certificates and diplomas tho. The cost of these are often paid for by things like a career loan which you would need to pay back.
Basically its horribly complex and may even depend on where, when and what you studied. Maybe worth a phonecall? There's probably a whole host of different rules in England too that i know nothing about. Sorry not much help at all!!Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Good evening fellow frugalites.
I hope everyone has been enjoying the beautiful sunshine
I decided to treat my friend to a meal with some of my Bingo winnings ..hasn't been credited yet but I keep checking. I only spent £16.74 for both of us and we had a great time catching up on the gossip.
I called in at a local shop on the way home to get some cheese for DH (who could single-handedly clear any European Cheese Mountain) and discovered they were selling off 250gm packs of Seriously Strong Cheddar for 99p (usually £2.55) as they expired on April 11 :j Bought 2 and then saw 250gm butter for 50p so got one of those as well :j
Driving home I thought I should have bought more and frozen them. So I will be back tomorrow and hope no-one else has spotted them.
Anybody who remembers a post I put on a while ago about my problem niece  well, fell out big time when she phoned to say that the money she promised faithfully on her life to pay me back within a month has now been diverted to buy a new bed for her son and.....LAMINATE FLOORING
When I became a trifle annoyed at her reneging on the bargain struck amongst many tears and heartfelt promises about paying it back, she accused me of depriving her children of a place to sleep and said I was heartless.
The Bank of Janey and DH is now closed to Wayward Nieces.0 -
FFM: Oh do tell, I have lots of books that I don't think I can sell in Amazon and would love to be able to shift them. Can't go and do car booty as I have nobody to look after DD. I was wondering if Ebid would be good place to try to sell them. What is your experience?
Mmm, in my experience Amazon is the best place to sell books. I have sold 5 books in over 9 months on EbidI have about 500 listed, lost some yesterday in my reactivation
It's going to be such a pain to sort out which ones they were - I'll need a different approach.
Other alternatives are Play.com and greenmetropolis. Or swap for other books to read on readitswapit.
FFMAMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0077 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board.0 -
Marru - The yoghurt is easy to make and quite cheap. i have the easi yo maker but I don't use their mixes. I use uht milk, and a starter pot of natural yoghurt ( i use yeo valley), You only need this the first time after that you can just use a few tablespoons of your made yoghurt as the starter.
Basically slightly warm a litre of uht milk, stir in the starter pot and place in the easi yo, leave around 10 hours and voila you have lovely creamy natural yoghurt.
Take out a couple tablespoons for your next batch and start again.
I buy my uht milk at costco £2.49 for 6 litres so that's how much it costs me for the yoghurt, then just add whatever you like to flavour it:D
Every so often it starts getting runny - that is when you need to add a new pot of yoghurt as a starter, and off you go again.
You can actually make the yoghurt in a vacuum flask just as easily, but i think you have to heat the milk more then. I like the easi yo as it has all the containers with it for storing the yoghurt in once it is made.
Just waiting for my kefir grains to arrive now so I can have a go at making kefir drinks and cheese:D0 -

Sophiesmum, Thank you so much for that. I have ordered the joghurt maker from eBay. It will pay itself back very soon. Now just need to find cheap frozen berries to flavour our treats.
CA: You have been doing great in paying off your debt. Mine is still getting higher by charges and interests as we speak so just hang in there.

Hi just wanted to give you an update:
"A hearing to decide the immediate fate of 29 donkeys and Shetland ponies owned by the Gray family has today resulted in the animals remaining in the care of the RSPCA and other welfare organisations.
Deputy District Judge Sandeep Kainth, at Oxford Magistrates Court, suspended the original order for the 11 donkeys and 18 ponies to be returned to the family in light of representation by the RSPCA. The case will now go to the High Court and will be subject to a judicial review."
I am sure that the petition will help the case in the Hight Court. Thank you all again.

Hello everyone. I've been a bit quiet recently because I've got some "stuff" going on which I'll mention in due course when I can do so!
I have been frugalling quite well, though. Mrs MMD bought a nice chicken for Sunday lunch and I made some rather good chicken soup later on. She's now under strict orders never to throw away a chicken carcass without making soup out of it - it was so easy and cost next to nothing. We haven't made soup for a few years.
Hope you are all doing well with your challenge.
NYK Mrs MMD forgot to put the nappies on to wash overnight - very naughty! I'd gone to bed early so I couldn't do it either. It was DD's fault for waking up at about 11pm and then demanding tons of attention until the Mrs was too tired to think of anything. They are going in overnight today instead - luckily DD isn't getting through them too quickly at the moment.0 -

Marru if you have an asda near you they are currently doing bags of frozen fruits for smoothie making for £1 each. These would be ideal for what you want, in our asda they are near the ice cream. One is a tropical mix and the other berries.0
