Whats the earliest i can change an 18 mth contract with O2 ?????

I'm currently in an 18 mth contract with O2 but financial probs means i have to change it to a cheaper one.
It ends in Dec 2008.

After 9 months you can change down one rung per month as detailed in the terms and conditions (section 5.15 in my copy).
Note that if you are on a cashback deal this will forfeit any remaining cashback entitlement.0
