Exchanging personal details

Hiya

I know a lot of gardening help amongst friends involves seed swapping etc and it's great that people think of others on the forum when they have spare seeds/compost/manure(!) etc but just a quick note to be very careful about offering or asking for personal details.

On a forum this size we can't monitor every thread or know who's giving or asking for personal details and this is why we ask you not to do it. If you ever consider doing it, please just compare the situation to giving your personal details to someone you'd just met in the pub. Would you do it?

Thanks,

Andrea :)

If anyone is very keen to take part in seed swops (or rhubarb which is what one kind lady sent to me last year):j there is a site with a swop shop. It's called Allotments4All and it seems to run smoothly.

Another forum where we often do seed/plant swaps (and give away stuff without anything in return) is https://www.growveg.info

It is a great community where we have all kinds of walks of life, all ages and all kinds of experience from the newbies right up to those who have wisdom! I am still fairly new, but I would have given up if it hadnt been for them offering support, friendship etc

I am now kindly addicted - to veg growing that is :j

  • Yeh, most allotment people are really friendly - shame it can all be spoiled by one person being selfish. I wish Leeds City Council would get tough on antisocial allotment users.
