As I understand it, CRTs do not have freeview/digital in the tv, and as my region will be switched off analogue in around 15 months I do not see as CRT can be a viable option! I know you can use digi boxes, but I have 2 VCRs attached that only one can work through the digi box,( I have 3 scarts on the tv that has gone kaput, and use all 3,(freeview box,VCR x 2), so even if my tv can be economically repaired, I will still need to be looking for an alternative prior to the switch over, as well as upgrading to a dvd recorder/PRV,(Humax?).
CRT TV's with built in Freeview Link
However I'm not sure I'd spend a lot on a brand new one. I'd rather go second hand, better for your pocket and better for the environment.
One other poitn, if you buy a TV with a built in Freeview tuner now and they start broadcasting HD over Freeview the built in one won't pick it up so you will need a set top box anyway. Personally I prefer TV's without a built in Freeview tuner as we use cable and if I did decicde to get Freeviwe the boxes are dirt cheap nowadays. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
