Bid and bought item, now seller wants more postage money :(

Aw, that's harsh steve, you forget all the knowledgable people, and the remote chance of an actual member of ebay staff getting involved

(get a posting ID though)My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
It's a shame, as no doubt many of those people hiding behind posting ID's are probably very very knowledgeable, but why do they have to be so petty, self-righteous and openly hostile with it?
People in various states of distress go there looking for help, and end up being hounded off eBay altogether. Looking back at some of the older threads with a few hundred replies, the ones where the OP has been ridiculed, there are not many of those OP's still around today - and you only need to look back a month or so.
(also uses a posting ID, after once defending the victim of a Nigerian scammer who was properly hounded for being naive, but ended up with lots of auction wreckers chasing me!)<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
And as for the eBay staff - don't get me started on Richard Ambrose- he is possibly the most unprofessional and dismissive person ever to wear a pink banner, and is a disgrace to the eBay name.
And I've told him that on the boards too.... Under my real ID!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Thank you for all your answers, does anyone know of a link to eBay rules where this policy is stated?0

i don't think it's a written ebay rule, it's just common sense that you can't agree to an offer for an item, receive payment and then demand extra money because you made a mistake.helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -

pretty much covers the issue - the seller has refused to accept your payment, as outlined in the "Some Examples" link<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
How's this sound for a reply?
"I bought and paid for the item at the specified rate, eBay policy is that if a seller makes a mistake on postage it is up to them to incurr any extra costs.
I'm sorry but I would not have bid on the item if you had stated £8.24 postage.
As a seller myself I understand that this does happen, and have myself incurred extra postage costs on numerous occasions, the best advice I can give is to check postage before listing.
Unfortunately I am not in a position to be able pay any extra.
I hope we can resolve this matter quickly"0 -
i wouldn't of mentioned that you are in no position to pay anymore, i would of just flat refused.helpful tips
