Due to me being disorganised, I haven't got round to sorting out my ISA.
I did and was trying to open the Barclays tax haven at 6.5% however they've been totally incompetant and have made it impossible for me to get it done.
Summary of circumstances:
TIA
I did and was trying to open the Barclays tax haven at 6.5% however they've been totally incompetant and have made it impossible for me to get it done.
Summary of circumstances:
- Need to be able to apply online. I'm out of the country all this week with no ability yo get to a UK bank. I can pop in at a later date and show passport, etc. Can provide passport number, NI number over the net should it be required.
- No previous ISA open, so no need to have transfer ability
- Not bothered if the rate is low, as I can always move it to another ISA account for the 08/09 period.
TIA

What about the bank where you hold your current account - they should already have your details so may not need to do an identity check? Or is that Barclays?0

My current account is with Natwest. They're not offering the ability to open an ISA0

You could have a look at Egg.
Admittedly it was a while ago I opened mine, but was up and running same day. And 6.05% which isn't too shabby.0 -
OK, all sorted now. Managed to apply online to ING direct and as long as they receive (doesn't have to be cleared!) the cheque by Friday, it'll be ok. They don't have any limitations on moving away, so I'm

I'll then move to a better paying account when I have the chance to sort it out.0
