Help Dividing a Bedroom?! ideas needed

piratess, any chance of you posting the rough dimensions of the bedroom along with the position of the door and window? (and light)
It will help people to visualise the room and see the best way to divide the two.0 -
also, what sort of costs had you been given for room dividers?0

I have split the front bedroom into two - used stud partitioning and a folding door (for more space). Its tiny, but it's DD1s. And it has no window although her door is at a right angles to the window so airflow isn't a problem.
Luckily a mate did it for us for nothing so it was materials only and some beer, about £300.
Really odd shaped rooms in this house!0 -
I'm thinking stanley sliding doors (the kind used in built in wardrobes).
Run a track straight down the middle of the room or wherever suits and put doors in it, one or two could even be glass or have clear sections for light as there is only one window, then the girls could have a simple blind or curtain that can be closed. The good thing about using sliding doors is they could be mirrored to make both rooms look twice as big, can be slid back out of the way when the rooms don't need to be seperated and the see through section could be moved along the row just by sliding. It could be near the window during the day and at the other end at night for privacy.0 -
The sliding doors may well work! Esp as your kids are older - my eldest is 14 with the younger 2 in the room being 6 and 4, so glass and sliding things would have been the last thing on my mind!
Do yours get on? If not then there would be slams and bangs etc and perhaps kicks.... on the glass?0 -
Hi I've been looking at sliding doors and have seen room dividers on the website that my parents have recommended, you can get a quote online to get an idea on price.. am I allowed to put the website? x0
