Try buying the Express or The Mail on Saturday. They often have good offers. We got a Holiday Inn Express Golders Green last month for 2 nights for £100 including breakfast and the room slept 3 of us. They often have a special web page link.0

The Royal Adelphi Hotel, Villiers Street, (down the side of Charing Cross Railway Station) is your best bet. It does what it says on the tin (basic) but it is very central and you can walk to your pupillage. Room will cost about £75 per night including continental breakfast.
Always stay there when in central London.0
