My current pot of gold is with NR at 6.9%.
    So £500 @ 6.9% = 34.50
    PO £500 @ 5.5% = 27.50 + Cashback Kings 15.50 = £43.00

Presumably you can open with £500, add nothing more to it as the
account is a lower rate than with NR and once you have the CK £15.50 in your account, you close the PO account, with no penalties. Anything wrong with my assumptions?

Cashback stated requirement is that "Post Office Instant Saver has to be opened".

Post Office Instant Saver itself requires a minimum Investment of 500.00.

Cashback Kings state they pay Cashbacks after around 2 Months.

Cashback Sites all state Cashbacks not guaranteed.

Transactions must be complete wholly online where possible.

Heres an account info link. If anyone decides to open it via cashback kings, best to clear cookies before going to cashback site.

Had any problems when opening this account? I might do it cause the cashback is pretty good!

Even if it doesn't track i would loose 41p interes - not exactly breaking the bank.
    8,000 / 10,000 saved. Another 2,000 by April 2011!

Printed applications have come through the post. The ID theve specifically asked for is ID i dont have. The 500.00 deposit can be made by post or at a post office my plan is to go to a post office armed with the usual ID which hopefully will be accepted.

Im not rushing to make the deposit as I want to sort out my ISA funding first and have a regular saver i can get 400.00 out of once I know for certain how much interest was paid at the end of March.

Also its possible to gain a reasonable amount of "free cash" by completing registrations/surveys and/or doing daily clicks. I use a different email address for each cashback site and thus complete the surveys/registrations on each one thus getting some extra pounds each time.

Nice spot. :T Theve actually increased the first years introductory bonus from 1% to 1.5% so the rate exc bonus should continue to follow Base Rates downwards.

Ive just phoned Post Office financial services freephone number 0800 169 7500, person I spoke to said that signed applications dated after 6th April 2008 will get the 1.5% first year rate enhancement.

Yes. The underlying rate is i) guaranteed to track all movements in the BOE and ii) be no more than 1% below the BOE rate. By rights it could be lower than it is today at 4.25% (5.75% with the bonus.)

The rate is only 6% (1.5% bonus) for new accounts BTW. I opened mine on 1 April and the bonus was only 1%. So I'll be closing it if they won't offer me the new terms (since I'm within the 14 day 'right to cancel')

Update: I've been told that if I close the account the bonus rate is available for 'all' re-applying customers - so that looks simpler, doesn't it.
