i had an insane lecture when i went to docs preganant at 17 with my 2nd baby when i had a 10month old baby that happened to have downs syndrome and refused all tests lol
I'm not going to test either. I have a child with all manner of special needs as you know and although another one wouldn't be ideal there is no way on earth I would terminate so what's the point in knowing. The way I see it is I am always going to be the parent of a small child. Amber is hardly likely to be moving out at any time so it really doesn't make any difference if there is one or two at home does it. I'd actually seriously been considering adopting a special needs child as nuts as that sounds, and we still might in the future although at 38 I'm probably getting a bit past that now as far as social services are concerned.:A

toto that was a very personal thing to say, bless you .
the way i saw it i wouldnt have not wanted dan in this world so any other baby whatever problems would be loved just as much.0 -
The docs thought I too was mad for turning down all the tests.
But as others have said any child would have been loved whatever.

Morning all
Hope everyone's having a fantastic Monday (I don't think those two words actually go together though, do they!)
Just had to pop on and share my good news. My OH and I stayed in a hotel over the Easter weekend (all budgeted for, of course!) - we had a terrible time, there were two coach loads of sports fans booked in and they kept us awake with their shouting, loud music etc in the early hours. We complained, but were told there was nothing that could be done as they were full. Easter weekend, soall the local hotels were booked up.
The old me would have left it at that, but I decided I wasn't going to pay for a service I wasn't happy with, so when we got home I wrote a strongly worded letter to the manager suggesting they might like to compensate us for our distress and exhaustion. Lo and behold, a letter arrives this morning with a full refund! :T How's that for some great MSE work?
Am well chuffed, as I thought it would be much harder than that. And it means we're better off this month than we thought we would be.
Apologies for long post but am very pleased with myself. Has right made my day! :rotfl:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 5500 -
Morning everyone
Stuck at work and it's going to be manic today so thought I'd say hi now (in case I can't get back online).
Len - hope babysitting duties are a breeze.
Sarah - Register today for self employment (I put about 30% of self employed earnings in a separate account to cover my tax bill. This way I will have some money left over which often feels like the tax man has given me a present)!
Toto - glad you're feeling normal, good luck for Wednesday!
Jacs - isn't payday a wonderful day. For about 20 minutes I feel flush!!!
Hope to be online again later on (otherwise tonight).

immoral_angeluk wrote:Oh god no it'd be nowhere near that... I've told tax credits £550 for the year just gone and I've only had one party!
Then unless you've earned over £5,220 from Argos and any other paid work this financial year, your tax bill will be £0 , although you still have to do a return.
You'll need to ask for the NI certificate though when you register and just explain why, they are really helpful people, I was like - erm, I haven't got a clue what to do or what I need to tell you and it was just name, address and I think NI number and the broad title of what I was doing.
Lenny and jacs - Beef casserole with veg. in the slow cooker today. I'm using some of that horrifically dear meat I bought on Saturday so it had better be good!! It's one of the tougher cuts but being in the SC all day will soften nicely. I'll probably do some dumplings to stick on the top later and some mash."Stay Wonky":D
