Morning everyone (well, only just morning still).

Not a very good nights sleep for us either - not due to the children but - the cat! He kept trying to go into DD1's bedroom - he tried at 4am, 4.20am and I kicked him outside. Then at 5am he came back in through the cat flap and tried again then and again at about 5.30. And I've woken up with a headache and sore throat too.

At least its prompted me to plane the top of DD1's bedroom door so it now shuts properly.

Well, all credit due to DD1 yesterday. This is what she did...and enthusiastically at that.

    Childrens list.
    1. [strike]Clear and wipe the table[/strike]
      [strike]
    2. Load the dishwasher (DW) if you have one[/strike]
    3. [strike]Can you fill the washing machine (WM) with things that are all the same colour and switch it on?? This is a very important thing to learn.. many big clever daddies struggle with this job.. even our daddy.. so if you can do this.. you are cleverer than him! [/strike]
    4. [strike]If you are a bigger little person could you wipe over the fronts of the kitchen cupboards and fridge/freezer/washing machine.. sometimes you need to check the insides too as they get a bit sticky..[/strike] Didn't need it so let her off this one!
Her reward was a glass of chocolate milk instead of plain milk before bed. (Don't tell her it was just because I spotted it when clearing out the cupboard and it needs using by the end of the month).

Did our bathroom on Saturday so think I'll just do a quick S&S in there later on. Might do some baking with DD1 when DD2 asleep this afternoon. Think we'll make banana bread and banana muffins - guess what I've got that needs using up!:rotfl:

Risotto for lunch but need to nip out for cheese. Got 2 1/2 packs of risotto rice so any nice recipes appreciate (veggie ones please)!

Jill - I usually give my two tea at 4.30/4.45pm, firstly so that 5 year old DD1 can be in bed by 7 on a school night and secondly so DD2 (15 months) is hungry enough to take a full bottle at 6/6.15pm then bed at 6.45pm/7. I've always been a bit of a stickler for routine though but I think it paid off as they are both fantastic sleepers (DD2 slept til 9.30 yesterday and today, don't you just love school hols!) If you want me to PM my routine for you to try let me know - DH thinks I'm too bossy though so I won't be offended if you don't. Don't worry about baths - mine are lucky if they get 2 a week!

Ok - off to shops or we'll never get lunch - haven't a clue what to have for tea. Think I need to start doing meal plans.
