O2 contract ending

Hi all. I know nothing about mobile phones and so thought I'd ask the experts - YOU!
My O2 contract has ended and I have switched to the £10 per month PAYG option. The guy on the phone said that they can offer me deal/new phone etc. He reeled off a few models but it madkes no sense to me!
I currently have the Sony Ericsson K800i. I am not interested in paying over £10 - £15 pm for my contract. Do you think there are any mobiles in O2's armoury that I could get on a 12 MONTH contract at or below the aforementioned monthly fee, that are better than the K800i?
