Depends on the size you need, but just replaced two tyres on my car, £50 each from Tyrespot, cheaper than Blackcircles by around £5 per tyre.

If you PM me the size of tyres you need, I'd be happy to check the review on Which and let u know which are the best buy tyres in your size.

    Regards

I paid less than £200 total for 4 new tyres fitted, balanced, VAT etc etc, so you can get easily get decent tyres for £40 per wheel total. None of the local places have managed to beat Blackcircles for me.

I always thought that the online places would be cheaper than everyone else. I managed to source 4 x 16" Avon ZZ3's for £200 fitted for my focus. No one else online could touch that price!

Try getting a quote from here too. Used them once before:

The brake pad thickness should be easy enough to check yourself with the wheel off, there is usually a "window" somewhere on the front of the caliper in-line with the brake disc to check.

Wear on sidewalls could be due to a combination of age (low mileage), heat (sun) and scraping on kerbs as previously mentioned.

Blackcircles seems good price I cant get much cheaper locally when I take into account the 5% code and 4% cashback.
I don't know if it's a mistake but www.cashbackkings.com are offering 6% cashback on Blackcircles transactions. Note if you want more than one tyre, order them separately so you can make use of the £5 discount code each time. I need 2 new front tyres and will get each of them £20 cheaper than my usual supplier!

    I just love the internet.

Imho the best tyres for you would be either remoulds or budgets.

There's nothing to fear from remoulds contrary to what a lot of people on here say, fact is the difference between them and me is that they never use them, and I have driven tens of thousands of miles on them since 1990s They became European type approved sometime around year 2000 aswell - which means they have to pass the same safety tests that new tyres do. I admit though that I have not used them for the last few years, because
    1. Could not find supplier near to me
    2. The budget suppliers near to me cost a similar amount to the remould suppliers who are further away (including the cost of petrol to get there and back again)

Budgets are cheap new tyres, often made in the same factories that make Michlin, Goodyear, to the same standards.

All you do is phone around a lot of local tyre sellers and ask for the cheapest tyre they have all incl price. If you do want to consider remoulds, you should make a point of mentioning that you are interested if they also sell remoulds, otherwise they will assume you are not interested.

I believe you will definately find them cheaper locally than the online sellers.

Buying brandnames is definately a waste of money.

Check the big names (A&A, kwik, National etc ) if they have any special offers on cheapos, sometimes they will have BOGOFs which are not entirely BOGOF (long story, let's just call them a discount).

BTW, I guess you had no luck getting the person who sold you the car, to pay for the work needed for the MOT last year?

No Wig I didnt pursue it. I have had further work though since like cam belt and 4 tyres, 2 this week. Also have new brake discs/pads and need a new exchaust. I accept most of this is down to my wear and tear and for a car of its age. I didnt see the cam belt coming didnt realise I needed a cam belt 50k miles, service picked this up and had that done 2 weeks ago at a much cheaper costs than a garage £165 compared with 200+vat at cheapest quote
