Having started this thread I am obviously interested in the result. It seems the debate is almost equally divided between those who have no problems and those who would steer well clear because of their own experiences!

I too am on AOL and had decided to leave them after doing a free trial for radio broadband with BT and getting used to using a different isp thought I'd make the move as so many good offers for broadband around and AOL seemed to be more expensive so I phoned to say I was cancelling my dial up at £15.99 to look for a broadband around the same price and their 512 was £24.99, anyway the lady came back and as a special one off she would give me that offer for £19.99 for 512 speed so I'm still with them and had no problems.

As has been mentioned elsewhere, if you are an NTL customer, their broadband is about to go from 300K to 1MB in the New Year, for £17.99/month.
