By the way ....who I am married to is none of your business.
RugbyPete.......have you considered taking an Iodine supplement instead of the Kelp? I take Iodine in water every day as it helps rid the body of heavy metals too.
Kelp is a natural source of Iodine.
you will notice the flushing period though, you get flaky skin and strange rashes, but it goes away. you get some strange body odours too but its obviously working, and when your well saturated this oviously decreases.0 -
Yes, I know Pete....thats why I mentioned it.
I had the dry skin anyway as that is a sign of low thyroid levels anyway.
Have you had a thyroid profile done Pete?0 -
I have an interesting pdf on Thyroid if you want it Ashropshirelady.0

Well, some people have clearly tried to make it about the effectiveness and harmfulness (or not) of fluoride, hence the thread length.
However. If you're against the mass medication of the population on principle, then I presume you don't eat bread. Because the flour used to make it has a few compulsory additives in it: this has been the case since 1963 (the Bread and Flour Regulations Act 1963 (Amended 1974)).
http://www.fabflour.co.uk/content/1/64/fortification.html
As you can see, there is a legal requirement to add things like calcium carbonate, vitamins, iron etc. And that's in all flour, so unless you mill your own, any flour you buy has to contain government-promoted additives. Now, I don't have a problem with this, just as I don't have a problem with fluoride being added to my water. But you obviously wish to retain complete control over what goes into your body, so I presume you'll be boycotting all flour-containing products until the government change the law on compulsory additives?
ETA: Margarine is another substance which has compulsory additives. Since 1967 (Margarine Regulations 1967), margarine must have vitamins A and D in it, by law.
Here's an very interesting video. Related to a few posts made from post 328 on page 17. I feel Cardelia and the rest of us may now have a very good reason to boycott refined products that then get enriched again after seeing this. .

It DOES make a difference, in fact Im sensitive to it. After 27 years in a Fluoride area I know how dumb-down wooly headed and numb Ive become, nothing like the first years of my life.
I take KELP nowadays, its made a HELL of a lot of difference, so much so without realising it I've tackled things I wouldnt normally, become more receptive to positive thinking and Im a real busy person now (just cleared a garage FULL of stuff via ebay and freecycle).
Im not going to give you any link just get hold of Kelp by googling. It's a natural source of Iodine, which is crucial in your body (fluoride affects your body usage of this so much it is known to affect your IQ). Kelp helps flush upto 75% of Fluoride from the body from just one dose, and without expensive filters (no, brita cant help) its the next best thing.
That sounds like a placebo to me.Ashropshirelady wrote: »RugbyPete.......have you considered taking an Iodine supplement instead of the Kelp? I take Iodine in water every day as it helps rid the body of heavy metals too.
Why are you ingesting "heavy metals"?All table salt is iodised, aren't you getting enough iodine anyway?

Wow!! Hahaha. I had no idea Fluoride was such a big problem.
I lived in Liverpool for some years and I know they have it in the water system there as it helps with teeth, but had no idea it ever posed a problem.
Not sure who to believe. Definitely not those taking about Hitler using it as a contraceptive on Germany!! LOLol
Gonna read the whole thread I think!! x0 -

78% of the people (who expressed an opinion) in Southampton were against water fluoridation. Despite this, it still seems to be going ahead.
My only doubts about water fluoridation were on the 'mass medication' arguments, which I am not happy with. This action of ignoring the majority view, is in my opinion very wrong.
I am completely against some of the arguments on this thread though that claim all sorts of false science (e.g. different types of fluoride). This sort of complete billhooks gets completely misunderstood (or believed even!) and sometimes puts people off fluoride in it's most useful forms in toothpaste.
Much as I detest the imposition of fluoridated water on a population who have said 'no' - I feel that the way in which the argument has been presented by the anti-F lobby, they have brought it on themselves.
Had the arguments stayed withing the realms of fact, rather than hysteria, the 'no' vote might well have carried more weight.
I'm geting off the merry-go-round now.
