Nokia 6680 and pay as you go

I bought a 6680 of eBay and seperately a 3 pay as you go sim card. Can anyone advise how I get the 2 to work together. The nokia is on 3 and is locked to them. I put the PAYG card in but I seem to have trouble registering it. Is there a specific process??? Help!!! Have a great phone I can't use!

    ring up 3 and ask them to register the card, it maybe it's not registered.....or you have purchased a phone which is barred. You say the nokia is on 3 and the sims on 3 then they should work ....infact I've just put a 3 PAYT sims into my contract 6630 and it logged the card no problem and my 6630 is locked to 3
