Hi Saz,
I know it probably seems a bit overwhelming at the moment but you have done the right thing by posting on here and you will get support. I'm in a mess myself so am not an expert on getting it right (yet) but can a just check did you say you are in arrears with your mortgage? Is this for the house you live in and is it in yours or in joint names? Sorry if it seems nosey but peeps will need to know to give you best advice. I'm sure you know mortgage is a priority debt and will need to be prioritised for sorting out.
That aside you are in deficit by about £94.00 per month. I'm sure with a bit of shaving at costs for stuff like food and some income generation you could probably create some breathing space for yourself, if you not feel you can squeeze anymre out then try contacting CCCS.
I know it feels horrible but I am sure your situation can be turned around. Sorry one more thing I forgot to ask is how long will you owe the car insurance for if you have sold the car?
Good luck Tara x0 -
When I sold my car I cancelled the insurance policy and owed nothing, is that an option?0

Hello Sazzle and well done for posting. Stick around here and you will get wonderful support and advice. Next thing you know, you'll be supporting other DFWs!
I know your debts are a great worry to you, but don't forget you have some big positives in your life. At 27 it's a great achievement to have a partnership where you are working as a team to sort yourselves out. You also have a kind dad who is trying to help you. Relationships are what matters - the rest is just money stuff to sort out. You CAN do it - keep posting here.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. The arrears on the mortgage is on my property not the property my partner owns. Plan to phone them on monday and speak to them about it and see if we can come to an arrangement. I know they dont tend to like to repossess if possible so hopefully we can come to an agreement.
I have joined the make £10 a day challenge to hopefully can cover that missing money, plus aim to try and cut back on the shopping more than I challenged myself to.
I have to pay the car for 4 months at a reduced rate of £21 instead of the £55 it was.
as much as it hurt to work out what I owe I can see what I have to do now and I can aim to do it. If anyone else is worried about doing an SOA, dont be its quite inpowering to take control of the problem. Thanks everyone for your support so far.MAY NSD's

Ah I just cancelled the DD, they wrote and asked me if I still wanted the insurance, I said no and that was that, no more payments. Who is it with?0 -

Tesco, spoke to them today again and its £80 to cancel or I have 3 months left to pay at £21 and then they will give me the full years no claim to add to my others. as its cheaper to keep paying it, i will plus I will get another car over the next year so the no claims comes in useful.MAY NSD's

Hi Saz,
Really glad to hear you sounding so upbeat today. I'm sure you will get things sorted, as others have said I think you have achieved a lot already at 27. Thanks for the encouragement to others to post an SOA. I'm working on mine at the moment and I agree knowing the situation allows you to start to deal with it, the unknown is actually worse.
Good Luck

Its funny even though you havent changed the situation its such a weight of your shoulders once you have done your SOA. I also realised then that I wasnt quite as bad as I thought I was. Plus all the support you get on here is great at making you realise that you are not alone in the situation.MAY NSD's
