With Boots, make sure you join the Health Club! You get certain products half price, so it's great if you ever need them. You also get a free eye test, or if you're over 60 you get 10% off lots of things.
This is sneaky, since I got a card for my daddy (who will kill me for saying he's over 60) and I um borrow him if need to buy a lot from Boots.
They also have a Parenting Cub, but my babies have feathers so I don't think I'm eligaible.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Might seem like a silly question but how does it heat?
Is it the sun that heats it, or some sort of solar panel in there?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Herr Professor Doktor Otto von Schnitzelvoom here. It works like a little greenhouse. The heat from the sun, being short wave radiation can penetrate the plastic. The water is denser, so the radiation bounces off the water molecules, transferring some its energy to them. However, this weakens the rays and lengthens their wavelength, so they now reflect off the inside of the plastic and cannot get back out again. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -

Next silly question re solar showers - errr....do they heat the water in them regardless of the (outside) temperature they are hung up in? Just wondering if one would only get hot water from them if its one of those hot, sunny days and the rest of the time the water would stay cold (visions of trying to get a hot shower out of one in the middle of winter looming in my mind:cool: )
--er...and as I wouldnt wish to give the neighbours a free peepshow - then any suggestions for how to hang it up in the bathroom?0 -

Fabulous! Thank you, I just got one from Argos :j for £7.79, so I'll let you know how I got on with it.
I got a slow cooker too, from their clearance, it was reduced to £13.30 from £20 and I've got it on the go cooking some lamb ribs (£1.05) in veg and gravy, a few mixed herbs and that's tonight's dinner sorted for about £1.50.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

If you are just joining for the discounts, then you can just pick something boring like Vitamins if the others don't interest you.
I'm gonna end this with a link here before I end up sounding like a big advertisement for Boots. I'm not, honestly, I just like getting half price Co-codamol!Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
