What is the actual store policy ?
I work in the catering department of a technical college. I don't believe we have a policy. If my supervisor clears the tables he bins the lot including anything that's recyclable e.g coke bottles / cans, sandwich boxes even though we have a man who likes to collect it to raise money for his church.0 -
I ask if there is any doubt, I was at a conference where they had some mini Bonne Maman honey jars for the herbal teas (it was very posh!) and I took one for my tea as I thought it would me nice to keep and reuse. As I left I asked a member of staff if I could take another as I thought they were really cute, he gave me two more with a smile on his face...God is good, all the time

Gift wrapping- buy wrapping paper on the roll rather than in separate sheets. I buy it in the sales and always go for ones which are unisex and not specific to any one particular occasion eg don't have happy birthday printed on. That way I can use the paper for all the gifts without worrying about colour etc. As many others do I also reuse paper and I find alternatives like comics, paper from bouquets, brown paper, old maps make a change.

I currently buy my fresh milk from farmfoods, its £1 for 4 pints or £1.50 for 6 pints, I've not found it cheaper anywhere else, I also get Nescafe from there as its £1.99 a jar instead of £3.00 from the other supermarketsAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00

I'm sure I've seen Nescafe in the pound shop quite recently.0

Like I said, each to their own re the taking/stealing/helping yourself/avoiding them being thrown away. I wasn't meaning to make anyone feel awkward or anything- sorry if I have
Our Boots only recently got its Kiosk and it was a pain as we had to wait until we were ON THE MAINLAND  to collect online points or even see if we had more offers. (That happens 1-3 times a year  - going to the mainland I mean).
Ok, hope you can all forgive me if I did cause any offense

Poundland is great for certain toiletries, biscuits and things.
Also I would say to any mums make sure you join all the supermarket/store/brand parenting clubs- points and/or money off vouchers ahoy!
Woolies often have £1 offers on, last time I got two of the big Robinsons bottles of juice 2L.

We can only get hot water if we also have the central heating on so I have to make sure all of the radiators are switched off manually if I want water when the weather is hot.
So I bought one of those solar showers you get to take camping today from Netto for £2.99.
You fill the bag with up to 20 litres (5 gallons) of water, leave it in the sun and after about 3 hours you have hot water which can be up to 58 degrees.
I am going to leave it out in the sun tomorrow (hoping that we get some) and bring it in and fill the washing up bowl with it.
It's taken me a week of evenings to read through all these fantastic posts.
My favourite has to be this one. Thank you for enlightening me re the solar shower, I'm going to get one tomorrow, would it be ok to hang it in the conservatory?

I'm not sure to be honest, it is very heavy so it would need to be something really sturdy, wouldn't want it to put any stess on your conservatory windows!
There is a large screw on our outside wall, I think the previous owners must have had a very large hanging basket on there so we hang it off that.
To be honest I have only used it once since we bought it a couple of weeks ago as the weather has been flippin' awful.0
