You have to be careful because some of them have a lot of fat in, but other than that, the only downside, is that the bits can be thick or thin, big or little, which never matters to me.
I buy them to make quiches or even a bacon butty - a real moneysaver. Have a look round your local market stalls or supermarkets, there must surely be others who sell bacon bits.
Tesco and Asda do them as well great for all sorts

if Shield is the aqua coloured soap, I used to use it when making my home made washing liquid - gave it a lovely smell.

it's that time of year again(tho tesco don't yet have Christmas wrapping paper in so there is some hope!)
If like me you love designer perfume but not designer prices get OH's' friends etc to check out the many discount cosmetic sites(via a cash back/points link of course) for greatly reduced perfume.I just bought a huge 100ml spray of Nina Ricci for half price(large tester size made for stores) and also have bought 1 of my fav perfumes which has been discontinued in the stores again half price.
the tester was in a plain not for sale box but the smaller perfumes are as in store.
they also have a huge range of skincare at reduced prices so well worth a look.
Of course you don't get the full range of things such as body lotion but with the savings made OH etc can get these in store!!!!!
they also sell aftershave!0 -
Can anyone come up with another use for body lotion? I have quite a bit from old Christmas presents etc.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Penny pinching today, I am going to get the throws out for the sofa's to keep us warm in the evenings.
I gave the toaster a good clean to get rid of old crumbs and gave it a wipe over. If you you look after what you have maybe it will work that bit longer. The toaster is a few years old but will take thick and thin bread.
Oh is chopping free/given wood to use as starter wood for the coal fire, will be lighting that soon as it gets colder.
Washing on the line.
Going for a walk to the clothes bank down the road with old summer clothes. No going in the car!If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Switch off your appliances at the wall before going to bed at night.
Do you realy need to use the oven as a clock? A battery powered wall clock uses much less power.
Switch off the oven and iron a few minutes before you need to stop using them as they will stay hot for a time.
When using the oven try to fill it.
Shop around for fuel suppliers.
Special insulation sheets put behind radiators will reflect the heat back into the room.
Insulate yourself by wearing warm clothes and layers to reduce the heating bill.
