Do your bit for charity too...Labels if thats your thing..Check it out, of course they`re all pre loved but I cant really remember the last time I bought new! Apart from bras and knickers.... If you go into M&S for a bra fitting they are doing a £5.00 off voucher...

Duhhh! Many thanks again...Scissors or knife...:rotfl:

Sharp, sturdy knife is my choice ;) Harder to chop the proper finish ones in half due to the stupid ball bit so don't buy those ;)

  • Moisturiser - I buy Aqueous cream, over the chemist counter (although its sometimes on the shelf in a small tube). Aqueous cream is an emollient, a bit like E45, and Ive been using it for years as I have super dry skin, its suitable for children and the elderly. I used to get it on prescription to help my eczema, but its so cheap I dont mind paying for it 3 times a year.

Me too! I think I mentioned it earlier in the thread....
As I have sensitive skin and psoriasis I reckon it is brilliant stuff! it is also a really good alternative to aftersun if you overdo it in the summer (if we ever GET a summer!) or on hols.....

I tried cutting my dishwasher tabs in half today and everything came out great even on eco. Thanks :)

I used to do this...now I buy Dishwasher Powder (used to use this in the 'old days' before tablets became fashionable - but forgot about it - duh!). It is so much easier to use half the 'recommended amount' than mess about chopping up tablets, and it is cheaper in the first place too!
It was a bit tricky to find, but Morrisons sell it, so I guess some other supermarkets must do (my local ASDA doesn't unfortunately).

Hi have just tried this, Made a bit of a mess cutting it in half ,it shot halfway accross the kitchen. Fab idea. Many thanks:T

you could always crash the tablets, store them in a container, then use the powder instead. I saw a woman on tv do this and use a little scoop to measure it out.

re halving dishwasher tabs - I find that I can just snap them in half (still in the little packet as others have said) - I only use very cheap ones (tesco value,or lidl's W5) so not sure if this would work with more expensive ones. When I open a new box I spend 5 minutes snapping them in half and store in a big jar.

I used to use powder but I find that DH would put too much in - once I found the very cheapy tablets I switched to those - gives me more control (ha! ha! runs off laughing manically before the men in white coats come)
    weaving through the chaos...

  • I'm not sure this would be classed as sneaky but - ask to borrow things

I have a friend who regularly borrows my sewing machine. This is so much better than it sitting in the cupboard when I'm not making anything. She has just brought it back, along with some knitting needles that I borrowed from another friend and got permission to pass on to her.

Meanwhile, the knitting needle friend is coming round this evening with two pheasants she needs to put in our freezer. Earlier today, I dropped a plastic storage crate and a lidded pot back at her house on my way home.

AND I lent my slow cooker to someone at school this afternoon in an effort to convert them.

Bit mad really, but very satisfying
