HELP! - I'm looking a certain kind of ISA

I'm looking for the best available fixed rate cash ISA.

Halifax are offering a fixed rate ISA for up to four years but you can't make any further deposits or withdrawals once the initial deposit has been made.

I don't want an ISA that offers an introductory rate that then drops after a few months. I'm looking for one where you can re-invest further funds into it in subsequent tax years at the same interest rate that was originally offered.

With that arrangement if rates dropped you could put more money in next year at the original fixed rate but if rates rose you could decide to put it somewhere else. Would be very surprised if any bank offered that as would be a one-way bet in your favour - not what banks like best. They'll give you a fixed rate on money you place with them but not promise a rate on money you may or may not invest in a year's time.

Thanks. Thats a shame. I'm going to go with the Halifax 4 year fixed rate ISA. If they are offering the same thing next year at a competitive rate, I'll open another one for 4 years and have it as another tax free bond.
