When (like me this morning) you walk past Greggs and instead of buying one of those delicious Bacon and Cheese Wraps (92p each!) you decide to buy everything you need from the supermarket and make them yourself

i would not class myself as totally OS, but i am as close enough that i can be happy enough with for now. I feel there could always be more i could do if i really wanted but feel i have a happy medium, over the last year i have started to make my own bread, i cook near enough all main meals from scratch, i do not use lots of harsh cleaners and have gone back to vinegar and soda and stardrops for most my cleaning, i have reduced my washing load and the products i use to wash with and have now saved on my energy bills and saved lots of money. So all that cant be bad and i feel like i have become a better housewife and mother because of it all.Still TryingGrocery challenge July 2016

I am slowly changing into an OS`er. I refrained from buying a new matching toaster and kettle this week as the ones i have still work adequately.I have a kenwood chef and make cakes, pizza, bread dough, etc. I cook alot from scratch and when i do get a takeaway, i only go to one near me as its very cheap.I have slowcooker but havent used it for ages. I love charity shops and am always looking for bargains there.I want to learn to sew so i can make home made curtains,cushions etc.I am also an avid carbooter when the weather is suitable. So,getting there but still not as OS as i woudl like to be.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Well you can spot the people doing the grocery challenge as they are the ones stalking the shop assistant who looks like they are doing the 'whoopsies' :rotfl: (that sounds so wrong!) - wonder if there are any other OS'ers in my local ASDA - there's enough of us stalking 'the lady with the gun' when she heads for the whoopsie cabinet!
Maybe we can develop a secret sign/bargain grabbing method so we can recognise each other??? How about a badge declaring 'I'm one of Martin's OS'ers'? Or 'OS and Proud!'0 -

It's the part of the supermarket where they put all the reduced price stuff part way through the day. In my local ASDA there are two different places. One of them has mostly reduced price indian/chinese/rice/pizzas and fresh fish and the other one is mostly other meals/desserts/sandwiches/meat/milk and all manner of other goodies. At various points through the day, 'the lady with with gun' arrives and marks the prices down even further :j .0

There was athread on an OS badge - most OS people have been wearing a safety pin in there jacket lapel to show they are an OS board member although im yet to come across anyone doign the same in my local tesco!Time to find me again0
