Good to hear that Mr Weezl is feeling fine - so chances are its not the food...thinks...what food have you been foraging for lately weezl?:D Cor...foraging...I was sitting in a garden at one point this morning and the friend next to me DID seem to be keeping a distinct weathereye on me whenever my hand strayed towards any plants (well - I did contemplate saying "Here - just chomp on that daisy or dandelion leaf a minute and tell me what you think";) ).

Oh well...keep up the cheap recipes guys and gals. Just a quick <<wave>> to a new reader of this thread...<<hi to Shirley Goode - and all recipe contributions welcome>>.

Right - lots more recipes since I last made notes - so I've got myself loads of copying them down to do.:D

:hello: :hello: :hello: Waving madly to Shirley Goode.

My family 's favourite treat for Birthdays or celebrations are your chicken and cheese pancakes! With six of us I end up making about 20 pancakes!!! I have bought every book I can find that has been written by you and I have fond memories of the t.v. series years ago!

hi Shirley, (psst ceridwen, how do we know she's here?)

    Looking forward to your thoughts...

Discovered a big advantage to batch cooking, freezing etc... When you've been frowing up, and DH needs to find food, there's no succumbing to costly takeaways! hehhehheh!

3 weeks to go! Shaz, you talked about what I'd do differently if doing it again. would I try for more variety? Well, no, I don't think we've experienced this as unvaried in the evening meal department.:D

What I will do differently is prioritise fresh milk, we had 4 weeks of the 13 weeks of this challenge on powdered milk in tea, and both thought this was a mistake! I'd spend less on making meat and variety appear so much in the evening meals, and invest more in the rest of the day. At least 3 types of sandwich filler, milk and posh coffee, and a box of cereal a month for Mr W (this is what he asked for when I said what would you change;)) Other than that he's loved all the food, HM bread for breakfast with HM marmalade or porridge with cinnamon syrup...

But, given that even at the end of this month there'll be half a months worth of evening meals still in the freezer:D, I can easily see how when I do it again, with better planning, all those things can appear!

Variety wise, we haven't had the same dinner more than twice in a week, which I think's pretty good!;)

    Weezl x

Hi Weezl - answer: the fact that she has mentioned on her blog having found this thread and had a looksee - unless my memory is much mistooken - and a dash of intuition on one or two words she has used in her language in postings (thinks she...about to go off and do a goodly amount of housework in a moment);) :D I do like me medieval language forsooth - LOL

    Morning Guys...

I caught a bit of HFW on Channel 4+ while waiting for Casualty to start....*has he moved to a bigger property or is this an older series?* just in time to see him making a delicous-sounding dandilion & burdock beer:drool: Only took about a fortnight from PICK-ing to PICKL-ing if you catch my drift:p

And you do realise, that every time I see "weeds" I automatically think of yooze lot on here.....but in a nice way of course:D ...& wonder wat it would taste like in a curry :rotfl:
