...if someone can tell me what the value (monetary) of tesco vouchers are I may be willing to change

Aren't Tesco points worth a penny per pound spent (unless you get tripple points on something), so I guess that means unless Asda is only 1% cheaper than Tesco, you're better off going to dreaded Asda I'm afraid!

The one in the bay is quite funny, at night there's usually only me and Mr Weezl, a few bored 17yr old Asda boys sweeping the aisles, and masses of Polish people. Seriously! All clustered round the salad cream for making lovely sawotkas. Nomnomnom.

    Ahem, I digress...

umm 1ib jar...ummm same size as the marmalae jar! Is that 1ib?!! (I a hopeless arent I eh!!). Ok one last push for tesco ... the reason I am so reluctant to let it go is that I use the clubcard vouchers for nice things like my mag subscriptions (cos 'm not meant to buy them any more!)...I know, its pathetic :( Whenever U go to the one in the bay its always packe & I can never find anything...mind yo they keep moving stuff at tesco! You dint answer the ? about whether the challenge ends at start of end June...pray do tell so that I can encourage in appropriate measure! Can also confirm that soya bacon is nothing like the real stuff (unless you were drunk I guess!) but I had it with a beautiful egg that my friends chicken laid esp for me...apparenty in exchange for the marmalade I gave him as a thank you pressie! I was so touched that he's thought of me and the egg was yummy! Yolk so fresh & yellow! nomnom I think you would say weezl!!

    Hi ISOM,

Challenge ends at the end of june, we will have done 91 days food for two people on £120. Only as you can see from the sig, this is looking a little precarious!

Easy way of knowing if your jars are 1lb or 1/2 lb, how many jars did you get out of one batch?

OOOOOH eggs, I miss them too!:D

Perhaps I should have said in response to the kefir question, I really don't think we'll get any more fresh milk til end of June...

Love Weezl (with cheese and egg cravings!)

Well.....weezl...even if you dont manage to stick within the Challenge Budget - according to my (very rough) guesstimate you've managed so far for about £10 per person per week - which in my book counts as nothing short of miraculous.

  precarious budget indeed! Will have a think! Is being fed cheating?!!

    Check pm's weezl!

Re the jars I have no idea how many jars I made!! I usually sterilise 8 for each batch I think! Will take note next time!

Wil def consider asda as its silly to waste money like that...

Awww, now I've got all the lovely sympathy and encouragement, I should probably add that we're good for evening meals (courtesy of an alarming amount of freezer space) until end of June. I think I just need 4 more bags of bread flour and that's all proper meals done. It's the snacks and extras I'm a bit worried about.

If loo rolls go too quick, Mr. Weezl will not consider other alternatives.

He has been asked. (once. Newspaper)

I think the look on his face translated as 'you are very lovely, but sometimes you are barmy, and I wonder if divorce might be saner?'

ISOM you're making your chutneys for 43p a jar and selling for £1.50. This doesn't allow for your costs of gas/elec for making it. I reckon there might be a few substitutions which could make it even more profitable?! Dried chillies? Ginger powder/ Garlic powder?

If I make my barmy challenge, shall we all have a party? Webcam/skype conference call type?!

If you make the challenge weezl too right we'll be having a party! Skype is fab but I dont have a webcam (& wouldnt want people seeing my ugly mug generally!!)
Good ? re the doing it again..do you think Mr Weezl would do it? At least you didnt ask him to use a rag & then reuse!!! I mean, whats unreasonable about being told you can only use 3 sheets of loo paper...poor Mr Weezl...!!! Before you did the challenge (dont answer if you dont want to!) what did you used to spend? Bet ts a huge difference! I did debate doing the 4000 challenge on DFW but knew I'd never manage it!!

    Hi candyblue,

I reckon I'll carry on, but maybe add some other things into the mix....

ISOM, About what did we spend before... Before this month we managed three months at £45 a month, preceeded by 4 months at £50 a month including christmas hamper stuff.

Before that, it was a much more alarming £300+ with more for restaurant meals. Food has been as high for us as £700 a month:o. So £40, healthily feels so good!:money:
