i dont know my next door neighbour hun.I never hear a sound from there so feel bit scared knocking on the door and asking. My sons school was shut monday as they had no water in the school either. It would be to late to ring now, or closed. I had a problem a few years back when the tank overflooded and caused the ceiling in my sons room to colapse. The firemen had to turn off the water and the housing association at the time took 3 days to get me bottled water. That was nearly 2 years ago, am still fighting the housing !!!, all hey offered me was £250.They put me through hell as thats one of the main reasons my son wont sleep in his own room and alone as he saw the ceiling coming down ruining most of his stuff.Luckily he wa sleeping in my bed but when i was panicing and on the phone to the council he woke up.Am so so luckily he was not in his bed as the water was boiling hot.I feel really hot, like im coming down with something. Thanks x
(((HUGS))) diamond, wish there was something I could do :( Sounds like you need a break.

gosh, if there's been a burst pipe for that long, surely thames water should be providing back-up supplies? that doesn't sound right hun - I hope they sort it soon.

    Sxxx

The only time I saw the workmen was on monday.Since then its still been the same. Its shocking and disgusting all that water being wasted. My sosn school is about 5 minutes away, one is outside his school and 2 along our road. It was pretty bad today when I collected ds from school, it was going everywhere and everyone was getting wet.Im sure there was another at the end of the road as since the morning the traffic was awful. If there is no water in the morning i will go phonebox and ring thames.

It looks like I am in the same boat as you but without the children bit. I received a letter this weekend letting me that my Bereavement allowance finishes next month and guess what no widows pension. I am 56 and it appears they abolished it in 2001 but they kept that fact well hidden. I forced myself to get a part time job even though it was the last thing I needed at this present time and by the looks of it it will be my only income. Are they trying to drive us to join our husbands and therefore save on paying us our pensions as well. they took all my husbands tax and insurance whilst he was alive so where is it now. It used to be used to pay us widows obviously it is now used to decorate some private office or other of the ruling class.

I am in shock I have started smoking again after giving up again a month ago and am back on Valium I see no happy ending here.

Yes it was a shock to me especialy as when i first started recieving it i was told i would just loose the child part when my youngest left school. At least i have two years grace but a months notice is very little for you. You are correct in the fact that this has been kept quiet i usualy listen to the budget and read the papers but like you i had no idea.Apparantly widows who's husbands died before 2001 will continue to recieve their pension, does not seem fair to me or the fact that our husbands paid in all their lives and other people are getting the benefit.Just wondered if you are going to seek advice on how you will manage?surely there will be some sort of benefit to replace the loss and i believe there is a minimum income that you are expected to live on.I would be grateful if you would post on here if you get anymore information.Sorry about the smoking but it is not suprising you started again.I am a smoker myself and any long term smoker knows it is times of stress that we reach for them and a month is only a short time if you have been smoking years.I have stopped twice myself for 3 months and started again when stressed but as well as the obvious health risks i know there will be no way i can afford them when my pension stops. Thanks for posting at least we know we are not alone.
