There isn't a specific medicine for BPD. I am on anti-depressants but they don't do anything for me. The only thing they do is make me feel physically ill. I keep taking them in the hope that they might work but BPD isn't a type of depression so I'm really not sure that they will.

Anything that helps fight the urges must be good, and it's nice there are people here that can offer advice & support..
Yeah. She understands me better than anyone, but because we are so close I worry endlessly about accidentally hurting her feelings, and I worry about losing her. It's taken me a couple of years to let her in.
She's coming with me to my ED appointment in June and she said that she won't let any harm come to me and will calm me down if/when I freak out.
She is really like an angel to me.

It's a mental health disorder but a personality one, if that makes sense? So there isn't a medicine to treat it as a whole, only treat some symptoms of it. One of the symptoms is impulsivity so my friend takes tablets to help with that. OCD can be another trait of it so some people take meds to help with that etc.
I saw a consultant when I was 19-20. He said I had BPD but wouldn't diagnose me formally because the mental health trust here says he can't diagnose someone who is under 21 due to personality still forming or something. My doctor is in the process of trying to book me an appointment at the hospital to see the new consultant. Other than that, I have had 2 CPNs, 2 psychiatrists, many counsellors and a psychologist. Been on Prozac twice which didn't do anything for me. Been on Sertraline and that didn't have an effect and been on Citalopram twice which I'm on now. It didn't do anything the first time around (apart from an increase in suicidal thoughts, which was apparently "normal" according to the doctor I was seeing at the time). This time it isn't doing anything either. I've been on them for 5 months at 50mg a day.

Hi guys!:hello:
It's Mewsday already?!How are we all doing guys?
First things first - what a stupid saying!- a huge Tiffy
to our new clan members top-drawer(top), maverick(mav) and 10past6(10) and welcome home to weegie and pink!
I hope you've all settled in and as usual, I see the thread guardian angels have made you all welcome and offering great suggestions.
You have been busy posting bunnies - I notice we've got the night shift back again for the summer! It's sazzy's turn for the nightwatch for the first six months this year and then it'll be my turn.....by which time it'll be November and everyone will be all snuggled up by 8pm!
I think a lot of people aren't sleeping because of the heat and I can sympathise with our insomniacs too. It's hard enough dealing with our health and life's issues, but try doing it on 3 hours sleep, and it's virtually impossible. Thankfully, there's a lovely 9 mph breeze shooting through Warwickshire atm,
- hey, keep your hands off - it's all mine!
Okay guys, it's onwards and...well, onwards?
Tiffbits...
sazzy - good luck with counselling tonight angel!I saw your reply to me last week - lol...
sazzy wrote:Hi tiffy hun  Thanks for thinking of me, counselling went ok last night. Well, I say it went ok, when I got there, there was a note on the door saying, "Ok Sazzy you win, I admit defeat. I've gone to lie down in a darkened room.":rotfl:
:rotfl: Go check all the darkened rooms immediately angel - he might still be in there with a bit of luck!
Seriously though angel, you hang in there okay? After all, someone's got to keep me going.
Loves you hunnie.
sf - thankfully you're safe and sound angel!I just want to wish you good luck for the exam today sweetheart.
Relax as much as you can hunnie and just do your best. That's all anyone can ask of you. Just think - a few more hours and it'll be all behind you.
I'm thinking of you hun.
re ilgd - hopefully she is all right guys - a brain cell woke up at the back of my mind and I think she's away on holiday atm. When she starts posting again, it'll mean she's back but if she isn't, then she's not!Missing you ilgd!
ettie b - how are you sweetheart? Just want to say that I hope the recovery is going well after your operation. Hugs to you and the family. Thinking of you angel.
gem - my Tiffy radar is still going off about you sweetheart - I hope you're all right.gem wrote:Hi Mavrick:hello: Just want to welcome you to the thread 88 posts is nothing:rotfl: this is the third or fouth thread as we have been moved a few times...*people keep...mutter,mutter...move thread...new catflap to make...mutter...carrying litter trays over...mutter...*
Feel free to smack me on the muzzle if I'm wrong and all is well.
Be kind to yourself angel.
miro and bmf! - hoping you're well guys - we miss you - send us a hello when you can.
shaz - bless you - thank you hunnie, you're most welcome.Nothing like a little light reading huh?
Keep us posted - you don't have to go through all this alone shaz!
ladym - hey hun - hoping all is well.ladym wrote:No worries. It's going good. I have gold on most of the recipes...except the ones that have this surface scum removal thing in it.lol. It's a great game though, and I swear I'm addicted. Tehe I did a search on google about it but I couldn't find anything.Guess it's just a case of trial and error.
:rotfl:
Okay peeps - gotta run - (Hah!) - okay, well walk quickly then.Hopefully back to tiffing again later.
Safe journeys guys.
Much Love,
