No. :( There isn't a specific medicine for BPD. I am on anti-depressants but they don't do anything for me. The only thing they do is make me feel physically ill. I keep taking them in the hope that they might work but BPD isn't a type of depression so I'm really not sure that they will.

Well that is suprise i thought there would be a specific medicine, have you seen a specialist or just an ordinary gp and how long have you been on your ad's?

Must be really nice to have found someone like that - someone who understands what you are going through and vice versa..
Anything that helps fight the urges must be good, and it's nice there are people here that can offer advice & support..

Yeah. She understands me better than anyone, but because we are so close I worry endlessly about accidentally hurting her feelings, and I worry about losing her. It's taken me a couple of years to let her in.

She's coming with me to my ED appointment in June and she said that she won't let any harm come to me and will calm me down if/when I freak out.
She is really like an angel to me.

It's a mental health disorder but a personality one, if that makes sense? So there isn't a medicine to treat it as a whole, only treat some symptoms of it. One of the symptoms is impulsivity so my friend takes tablets to help with that. OCD can be another trait of it so some people take meds to help with that etc.

I saw a consultant when I was 19-20. He said I had BPD but wouldn't diagnose me formally because the mental health trust here says he can't diagnose someone who is under 21 due to personality still forming or something. My doctor is in the process of trying to book me an appointment at the hospital to see the new consultant. Other than that, I have had 2 CPNs, 2 psychiatrists, many counsellors and a psychologist. Been on Prozac twice which didn't do anything for me. Been on Sertraline and that didn't have an effect and been on Citalopram twice which I'm on now. It didn't do anything the first time around (apart from an increase in suicidal thoughts, which was apparently "normal" according to the doctor I was seeing at the time). This time it isn't doing anything either. I've been on them for 5 months at 50mg a day.

I'll try and post before I go out in the morning, but it depends on how I feel.

You have been busy posting bunnies - I notice we've got the night shift back again for the summer!speechless-smiley-040.gif It's sazzy's turn for the nightwatch for the first six months this year and then it'll be my turn.....by which time it'll be November and everyone will be all snuggled up by 8pm!biggrin.gifwink.gif I think a lot of people aren't sleeping because of the heat and I can sympathise with our insomniacs too. It's hard enough dealing with our health and life's issues, but try doing it on 3 hours sleep, and it's virtually impossible. Thankfully, there's a lovely 9 mph breeze shooting through Warwickshire atm, phew.gif - hey, keep your hands off - it's all mine!biggrin.gifwink.gif Okay guys, it's onwards and...well, onwards?confused-smiley-013.gifrolleyes.gif
    Tiffbits...

No worries. It's going good. I have gold on most of the recipes...except the ones that have this surface scum removal thing in it.lol. It's a great game though, and I swear I'm addicted. Tehe I did a search on google about it but I couldn't find anything. :( Guess it's just a case of trial and error.
A GAME?! Do you know how long I spent looking through Delia and Marguerite Patton (to name just two) recipe books for that recipe?! Go sit on the naughty step - and take katie-tulip with you too!shakehead.gif:rotfl:
